#Pageant Postivity: The Beni Bear Club

I first came in contact with The Beni Bear Club back in 2015 when I held a quick collection for a little boy called Finn who had terminal brain cancer. He was trying to break the record for most teddy bears in a line and needed as many bears as possible. I decided to do an appeal in Swindon, thinking we would collect maybe 50 bears in a week around Swindon, I put it out on Facebook, at my work and twitter and that’s when Maxi contacted me asking if they could help. This led to the Swindon Scrapstore helping and in the end we collected over 558 teddy bears! In just ONE week!!

The collection was an amazing success and Finn managed to get over 10,000 teddy bears, breaking the record and raising vital funds for charities involving brain tumors. Sadly Finn lost his battle but his record will always live on! After a crazy week I was very honored to be asked to be a Patron of the charity which was amazing!! Of course I said yes!!!

A little information about The Beni Bear Club, they are amazing! They are a local Swindon charity which help autistic children, through helping other charities, holding charity events to help fund raise, holding a Club night the second Monday of every month which helps children’s of all abilities and also a chance for the parents to get a couple of hours rest whilst they theme each event with something exciting to keep the children entertained. Not only do they do this, but they also create Brave Bears, which are given to children in hospital to help them with their journey. They also make the most amazing bears from all different fabrics to help fund raise for the charity, I have like 5 of them!

I’ve got to do some amazing things for The Beni Bear Club whilst being a Patron for the charity, from helping out at their stalls to going to London to be a princess for a special little girl, from attending a few of their Club nights including their prom which was so sweet, their Halloween parties and also hosting my own fitness club night!

I also got to talk to the children about pageants, about how they built up my confidence and also helped with bullying. The children got to do catwalk and try on my crowns but it was so nice to share something special of mine with the Club. Beni has been on a lot of adventures, he even came to Paris with me when I competed in Face of the Globe!

He got to go Disneyland and watch the parade but also meet so many different children from all over the globe and also made people ask about the charity and how they could help. Even Chico got a special Beni Bear cuddle!

The charity is run by a very special couple Maxi and Gary, who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Recently one of our little pageant queens was involved in a house fire and thanks to The Beni Bear Club we got donations to help set up again as well as their own brave bears, they also helped donate bears to the children’s hospital when I asked for donations. They help so many people around Swindon and also the UK. I'm so lucky To be involved with a local charity where I can really see the difference!

If you would like to find out more about The Beni Bear Club, search on Facebook or look at their website and buy a Bear!!!

Lots of love
